Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
The Ryegate Home Care Team, part of Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS Trust was set up in November 2003, following a successful bid for funding from the New Opportunities Fund for Paediatric Palliative Care.
The Team includes experienced nurses, support workers and administrative staff with additional support provided by two psychologists and a consultant neurologist.
The Teams Ethos is to support and empower families of children with life limiting conditions through the years of their child's illness and death. Dealing with bereavement issues faced by the sibilings and their families.
By providing this service the team enables families to make a choice of where their child is cared for, often preventing frequent admissions to hospital reducing the stress and strain this may cause.
The team provides respite support and palliative care for children in Sheffield. Presently we are involved with over 100 families and believe in a flexible caring approach, tailoring nursing needs to each individual family.
Members of the team will be taking part in a sponsored assault course to raise funds for vital equipment to enable the team to continue to provide this service. This will take place at Adrenaline Jungle in Nottingham on Sunday 21st May at 12pm.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor the team now!
Many thanks for your support.
