Hope’s story

Emily Hopkin and Steve Thomas's beautiful daughter Hope Emily Thomas recently passed away at the age of 16 months old. Hope was diagnosed before birth at the 20 week scan and her parents were told that she would be born with a severe and complex heart anatomy. Her death was a massive shock, even though her condition was complex, she was named Hope for a good reason. After a visit to Bristol Childrens Hospital for a pre-op one week before her corrective and difficult surgery and whilst climbing St Michaels hill, Hope stopped breathing, her parent’s ran to the Childrens Hospital and the hospital fought to save her life.

Emily and Steve are supported not only by their family but by a small group of mum’s and dad’s in the Bridgend area of South Wales. Bristol Childrens hospital is our nearest centre for surgery and we would like to help them by raising money to purchase equipment that Emily and Steve passionately believe the hospital is in short supply of.

We are trying to raise money towards a Defibrilator which we have been told the hospital desperately needs. This could save lives and  prevent another death. Please help us to raise the money to supply the hospital with this important piece of equipment - help us to save a life x
