HOPE International Development Agency is continuing our work in Bonke, a region in southern Ethiopia. When we first started our work there in 2009, only 14% of the 199,739 people had access to safe water. Now it is 48%. Our goal to bring this to 100% in the Bonke region by 2018.

Story

Millions Facing Famine in Ethiopia

Charity Wine tasting to fundraise towards Hope International’s work in Ethiopia:

Saturday 17th October 2009 at 7.30 PM

Hanover Community Centre, Southover Street, Brighton, BN2 9UD

Tickets £20 in advance.  The event will sell out.

The Independent on Sunday reported on 30th August 2009 that ‘Once again the spectre of famine haunts Ethiopia as the rains fail’.  Hope International UK works in isolated regions of Southern Ethiopia, in partnership with local communities, to fund the development, installation and maintenance of permanent clean water supplies to mitigate against such disasters.

In order to support the work we’ve organised a Charity Wine Tasting to fundraise towards Hope International’s work in the region. We invite you to join us in this venture.

You can support the work in a number of ways:

1. Buy a ticket to join us at the wine tasting

The event is hosted by Henry Butler of ‘The Butler’s Wine Cellar’.  Henry makes wine tasting fun and approachable.    Those that have attended one of his tasting before will know they are not to be missed.

Tickets can be purchased via the website: www.butlers-winecellar.co.uk/tastings.asp

2. Sponsor a round of wine for the tasting (Cost £50).

To sponsor the event please contact Chris Haywood – chris.haywood3@btinternet.com

3. Make a donation to the cause via this Just Giving Website.

Having witnessed the projects at first hand we know just how vital such ventures are to the people who struggle to survive in these isolated communities.  To find out more about the work please visit Hope International’s UK website: www.hope-international.org.uk
