Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and thanks to all of you who have helped so far !!

Each year, there are about 60 babies born in the UK missing part of one or both arms and hands. 60 families may seem a small number but to each of these families it is shattering and Reach needs funding to 'reach' these people to provide support and information as early as possible to help them get round it.

Reach was founded in 1978 by parents of children who were missing part of their arm or a hand, in order to lobby for the provision of a new artificial arm under the NHS. Since then Reach has grown to become a national organisation providing support and advice for children with hand or arm deficiencies, and their parents.

Originally, my side of the bargain was to try and complete my FIRST Flora London Marathon in under 4.5hrs. A re-occuring knee injury which has plagued my training since January looks like it is here to stay unless I pack it in all together, which aint happnin ! so the chequered flag is now my goal (as quickly as poss) so please, please help me help this fantastic organisation.  I've already successfully completed the Adidas Half Marathon last month in 2.5 hours, which with the injury was a fantastic acheivement and a huge weight off my shoulders.  The final goal is now insight and I need anyone who hasn't done so already to help me smash through the tartget.

WHY ?(This cheeky chap on the left, Samuel ), Is my reason for choosing Reach. He is a very close friend of our's son and is pretty much another addition to the family with his brother James. As you can see Samuel has such a deficiency  and with 2 gorgeous fully able daughters of our own, that are infact his best friends, I feel a few hours blood sweat and tears (and now pain) is the least I can do. Oh and I've already dropped a size in frock size !

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Reach gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation as well from the government.

Thank you in anticipation of your support and please dig deep,  Thanks again Steve
