A big THANK YOU from me and the BTO to everyone for helping me achieve my target of £2,000 for the endangered house sparrow (Passer domesticus) entry in the new Bird Atlas 2007-2011. This is key to laying down plans for bird conservation for the next two decades as over half the house sparrows have disappeared in the last 25 years.
I did this as part of my Queen's Guide award outdoor challenge walking 50 miles from Abbotsbury to Brownsea Island with five enthusiastic friends - Gina, Naomi, Chewy, Ginny and Kristy.
