<p><strong>IN MEMORY OF DENNIS MITCHELL</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In 1985 Dennis Mitchell set up the Rendezvous Society, now &nbsp;known as <a title="Global Fotosteps" href="http://www.global-footsteps.org">Global Footsteps</a>. Global Footsteps is an educational charity which acts&nbsp;as a connecting force between&nbsp;grassroots communities around the world to&nbsp;build resilience and resourcefulness. &nbsp;It does this by&nbsp;building and maintaining global partnerships,&nbsp;fostering cooperation and understanding across cultures, and bringing&nbsp;people together to volunteer and learn.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Last year Dennis sadly died whilst cycling a tricycle that he bought in Torun. He was cycling this tricycle&nbsp;from Cheltenham to Swansea on his way to a Quaker camp.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>You might think Chetlenham to Swansea is a long way to cycle. &nbsp;But Dennis bought the tricycle in Torun and cycled it all the way home to Cheltenham.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The challenge of running the Torun&nbsp;Santas Half Marathon is nothing in comparison with what Dennis did. A shame he wasn't sponsored.&nbsp; This is the least I can do and it seems appropriate to remember Dennis by running in Torun.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>I will run the Torun half-marathon on Sunday 4 December 2011.
