My story

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting our fundraising page. On 29th March 2009, we will be crossing the start line of the race billed as the toughest foot race on earth, the Marathon Des Sables. Held in the southern Moroccan desert, the event is a six-day, 254 km (156 miles) ultra-marathon which is an equivalent to five and a half regular marathons. We are running in memory of Malcolm's two year-old son Alex, who tragically lost his battle for life against Meningitis on April 16th 2006, and also to raise awareness and funding for the Meningitis Research Foundation. Sadly Alex was one of more than 100,000 children who die worldwide every year from the deadly disease to which there is no known cure. The Meningitis Research Foundation channels funds into research to prevent meningitis and septicemia, and to improve survival rates and outcomes. We are asking you all to support us in the massive challenge ahead by contributing to our sponsorship fund in any small way you can. All money that we raise will be donated to the Meningitis Research Foundation. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all your support.
