Anyway Flicky and Howard HAVE cycled (or walked) very slowly from Land's End to John O'Groats
covering 1369 miles through terrific scenery (our route - not the official one)
seeing 128 bird species
consuming 29 tea cakes
drinking 109 cans/pints of beer/ cider
all to raise money for the robot.
It took 9 weeks and 2 days and it was a real adventure: we met lots of good people; we got very hot, very cold, extremely wet. Our major investment in mosquito nets, insect repellent, and post-bite medication was largely wasted - the midges and clegs must have decided it was too windy, because we hardly saw any!
