Story
Flicky and Howard HAVE cycled (or walked) the 'End to End' very slowly leaving Land's End on May 11th, and arriving at John O'Groats on July 12th
covering 1369 miles through terrific scenery (our route - not the official one)
seeing 128 bird species
consuming 29 tea cakes
drinking 109 cans/pints of beer/ cider
to raise money for the BTO and three other charities.
It
took 9 weeks and 2 days and it was a real adventure: we met lots of
good people; we got very hot, very cold, extremely wet. Our major
investment in mosquito nets, insect repellent, and post-bite medication
was largely wasted - the midges and clegs must have decided it was too
windy, because we hardly saw any!
Anyway it's your turn now! If
you have not done so already, please dig deep for a worthy cause. Feel
free to sponsor us for anything - £1 per teacake or drink would be good!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Trust for Ornithology gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
