<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">The Yorkshire Regiment will have four Battalions on operations in Afghanistan over the next 18 months. The infantry soldier takes by far the most casualties and deaths in Afghanistan. When soldiers are injured, they are often back in a UK hospital within 12 hours of the incident. They arrive with nothing except what they are wearing.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">The Yorkshire Regiment are, therefore, trying to raise funds to put together 30 kit bags for wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan. The kit bags will contain a tracksuit, tshirts, shorts, footwear, washing and shaving kits, and will cost around £200 each.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">12 members of Howdens Joinery Supply Division at Howden will be running and walking a total of 1000km (621miles) between them from now until the end of October 2011 to help raise money for The Yorkshire Regiment. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">These are organised events only and evidence is submitted to the team leader for verification of completion. </span></p>
