Story

Dear All,

I will be running the London Marathon in 2013 in aid of a charity which is very close to my heart, Heads Up. As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 and had to undergo major surgery as a consequence. Heads Up funds pioneering research that concentrates solely on head and neck cancer. By learning more about this group of diseases we seek to find ways to prevent them, and to develop new treatments that result in fewer life-changing side effects.

Of the 8,000 people who develop head and neck cancer in England and Wales each year, over half will be cured. But current treatment methods can have a devastating effect on the lives of patients, affecting their ability to speak, eat, taste, smell or see. Your generous donation will help to research new and less evasive treatments.

Many thanks

Hugh Morris
