At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hugh Barnett says...

We did it!!

As you can see from the photo we completed the 2005 Derby Triathlon on Sunday 11th September.

It was an early start with Miles kicking off our race with the 400m swim at 7:53 am. The cycle leg went well and I knocked something like 10 seconds off my personal best for the course, and Doreen completed the event with a 5k run to Burnaston and back.

Our official time was 1:43:44, which placed us 483rd out of 517 finishers (7 competitors failed to finish). The split times were: Swim: 11:55 Cycle: 59:05 Run: 32:44 Thank you to everyone who sponsored us, including the lady who made a spontaneous donation after the race just because of the charity we were supporting. Please return to this page soon to see the final amount we raised. (By the way, it's still not too late to sponsor us because this page will be open until November 11th). Thank you again, one and all, from the Park Hill Pant(h)ers.
