Okay so I have been slow in getting this together, I was pretty slow doing the marathon too. 4 hours 50 minutes: first 19 miles in 2hrs 50 minutes, the last 7 miles in 2 hours- you can do the maths- I was basically crawling at the end. My legs stopped bending, as you can see from the picture I was not alone in this- Iona and George had a similar affliction (I did come in 2 hours ahead of them, but all was equal in pain stakes at the finish)

This dreadful self-inflicted pain was done of course as a personal challenge, but also to help people who have no choice in being inflicted by pain- victims of tortue- the most barbaric practise, and something which is not only on the increase, but is now openly practised and defended by leading western democracies.
