Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It has been 16 years since I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and I think it is about time I do something to speed up this cure I was promised by the doctors and nurses when I was little...what better way than to raise some funds for Diabetes UK by running 26.2 miles on my first wedding anniversary!
I have pledged to raise a minimum of £1900 towards this deserving cause. To find out more about the charity or how your donations will help, please click on the link below.
To add to the complications, I have started continuous insulin therapy by form of an insulin pump! As I have been on insulin injections for a good part of my life, the option of having an insulin pump was like being told I could now control my diabetes and it no longer controlled me. Admittedly I've had 'teething problems', but after a couple of months of trial and error, my sugar levels will be on track!
My marathon story has been published in my local newspaper, please have a read: http://www.wiltsglosstandard.co.uk/news/cotswolds/8917101.Diabetic_chemist_celebrates_first_wedding_anniversary_by_running_a_marathon/
Finally, I have been asked to be interviewed on BBC Radio London on the days leading up to the marathon. Watch this space for my review time!
Every little counts and I thank every one of you for your support!
