Story

Hywel Davies, 54, rode Last Suspect to win the 1985 National. The horse was considered a no hoper especially since he had previously suffered a near fatal fall but Hywel brought him home to defeat all 39 other runners. Over 6000 happy people in Cardigan turned out to greet Hywel on his return home. During his riding career he rode 761 winners, notably a Queen Mother Champion Chase and a Grand Annual Chase at Cheltenham as well as the Whitbread Gold Cup, a Hennessy and the Topham Trophy. Hywel now runs a horse feed business in Lambourn.

Thank you for supporting Hywel.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
