Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

In less than two weeks time i will be competing in the UK Ironman Triathlon in Sherborne, Dorset.

The event is considered to be one of the most gruelling feats of athletic endurance and is made up of:

* 2.4 mile open water swim in Sherborne Castle's Lake, followed by

* 112 mile cycle around the local Dorset countryside, followed by(!)

* 26.2 mile run around Sherborne

Visit:
http://www.ironmanuk.com/ for more information about the event

From the training that i have done i have no doubt that it will be as tough and unpleasant as it sounds and should take a mere 12-13 hours :-)

In light of all the training, the 5am saturday and sunday swim, bike run sessions with my co-conspirator Richie Garner, and having to moderate food and alcohol in take for the last 6 months i though it would be nice if a charity very close to my heart benefited from all the effort.

The RSPCA receives no lottery or state aid. Its £82 million annual running costs are funded exclusively by voluntary donations and legacies. It works tirelessly to reduce the harmful impact of human activities on animals and can only function through the support of kind donations from people such as yourselves.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RSPCA - National Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please give generously to this worthy cause

Many thanks, IBJ
