Exeter to Haslemere 190m Cycle Challenge · 4 July 2008

We are the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We help people out of homelessness and campaign for the changes needed to solve it altogether.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fund-raising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Crisis gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!

I know that when I walk past a homeless person in the street, I always want to help, but I don't always know whether it's better to give them some money or not.  And the truth is that sometimes I give and sometimes I don't...it depends on a whole bunch of instant judgements that I make - Do they look genuine? Do they look needy enough?  What will they use the money for? How am I feeling that day?

By giving to Crisis, you'll know that every pound you give...plus 28p from Alistair Darling... is going straight to people who need it and that it'll be used in a constructive way to help them re-build their lives.  WOW!

And you'll also know that I'll be cycling nearly 200 miles through hilly countryside to earn it. That means plenty of sweat, aches, sores (ouch!) and pain!!  I know that I'll enjoy it too and that I'll be truly grateful to every one who makes a contribution....no matter how small....as it's the knowledge that you're supporting Crisis that'll  help me on to the finish line!

Thank you so much,  Iain
