UPDATE

Many many thanks for sponsoring me. Not only did I raise more money than I thought, I ran faster. Maybe the two were linked. I ended up doing it in 3:19 - way faster than I expected. It's wonderful what adrenalin and a bit of competition can do.....

Legs now in rehab.

Thanks again, Mark

Thanks for taking a look. Please sponsor me.

I'm doing my first marathon next weekend (27th September). Full monty - 26.2 miles. Decided to do a quiet rural one so I picked the New Forest Marathon - it is also an area I know and love and er... should not be too hilly. I hope.

I've been training since May. It's not all been smooth, especially when my back pinged out in August. The longest run I've done is 20 miles - you can see stats here - and to give you a better balance some others here and here. The training is pretty much over now. Did 11 on Saturday and 4 yesterday (Sunday).

I'm targeting as a minimum less than 4 hours. I think I can do 3.45 unless bits start dropping off and just possibly squeeze inside 3.30. That's a big stretch though and I've got no idea what the last 6 miles are going to be like. If you feel like giving more for every minute inside 4 hours I come, that would be VERY motivating.

So please encourage me by giving some cash to the World Wildlife Fund. Personally I do not think there is a more important issue facing us than bio-diversity.
