 WE MADE IT!!!

At 9.15am on the 15th Octber 2011 we reached the summit of the 20.300ft Mt Imja Tse.

The summit day lasted a full 13 hours. Wew left base camp at 1.30am and scrammbled to the snow line by 5.00am jsuas the sunlight started to appear over the horizon. Another couple of hours crossing the snow fields and glacier took us to the final Ice wall and summit ridge. The weather was clear and calm and the view and feeling at the top was exceptional. 15 minutes rest and the descent began. We arrived back in camp at 2.30pm, mighty tired but mighty pleased.

Thanks to all who have supported this venture with kind words of encouragement and the valuable donations to the charities. I know there is still more to add to the totals which I am pleased to say have been well and truely exceeded.

During October 2011 we shall be attempting our greatest ever physical challenge. Over a 20 day expedition we will be trekking 100km through Nepal and to the heart of the Himalayas to Mount Everest.

Once there, we will attempt to climb the permanent Ice peak of the 20,300ft Mount Imja Tse. This will take us to almost 4 miles higher than our home of the lowly Cambridgeshire Fenlands.

We need your help to raise funds for these very worthy charities.

We are extremely grateful for your support and the donation you are about to make. You might want to consider splitting your donation between the 2 charities we am supporting.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Imja Tse is a daughter peak of Lhotse, itself a daughter peak of the Mt. Everest massive, and lies approx 4 miles due east of the Everest summit on the Tibetan boarder.
