Having worked closely with Refuge in the past year, everyone at benefit cosmetics have come to appreciate what an incredibly valuable role they perform in helping to tackle Domestic Violence - a subject so pernicious and prolific; and yet one that is so often 'brushed under the carpet'.....  

Sooooo, when Funny Women asked me to join in the ritual humiliation; one that sees a dozen or so 'hapless suckers', parked on a stage for a spell of 'stand up comedy'...how could I refuse?

To paraphrase the late Bob Monkhouse; "People laughed when I said I was going to do some stand up - they won't on the night!"
