This is my 7th Year running the VLM marathon for Havens Hospices which is a charity very close to my heart.

However this year I am also running in memory of my friend Simon Mundy who sadly passed away at Southend Hospital on 3 December 2013 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. 

It is incredibly sad that Simon's wife Jane passed away only 5 years ago and now Simon has lost his battle after such a brave fight. 

Simon leaves behind his three children Louise, Matthew and Daniel and his new wife Sharon and her family. Simon and Sharon married a few days before he died.

He will be sorely missed by his family and his friends and it is testament to him that over 300 people attended his funeral to pay their respects to him.
