Story
Hello!
My name is Isabella and the two older people in picture 2 are my Granny and Grandad.
( click on photos (2 )to see them!)
They are both 60 but instead of putting their feet up and enjoying retirement they have decided to go on a bit of a bike ride to help raise funds for a great charity.
They will be cycling from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
Grandad says that it is quite a long way - about 450 kms. whatever they are! They will be doing this over 5 days finishing on 6th December 2009.
They are training very hard and they have both bought new bike seats . I think Granny said they were filled with jelly!!
Anyway they are hoping to raise lots of money to help REGAIN who are the only charitable organisation in the UK solely dedicated to improving the independence of people who have become tetraplegic as the result of a sporting accident.
They helped my uncle Stuart after his accident . He and his girlfriend Lizzie are doing the ride too. Check out his page for details about his help from REGAIN and some silly photographs! http://www.justgiving.com/Stuart-Melrose/
If you feel able to make a donation you can donate on-line with a debit or credit card. Justgiving.com have told me that they use secure servers so your information is totally safe!
Plus, online donations from UK taxpayers collect a 28% tax bonus!
Thanks for reading my first letter. I will keep you updated with Granny and Granda's training progress and how their fundraising is going but I've got to stop now as Mum says it's time for bed.
Bye from Isabella
