Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 31st July - I jumped out of a plane on a tandem parachute jump for the NSPCC.   Many thanks to all those that donated - and if you wish to donate now - please do not let the fact that I've already completed the jump put you off.

Photos of the parachute jump can be found on facebook (no need to be a member/sign in) at  http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=58061&id=1650151292&l=a129c0e73b

There's no way to hide it - I have suffered from a weight issue most my life, but in December 2008 I took control of my life and joined Slimming World (http://www.slimmingworld.com) - and have gone on to loose aprpoximately 14.5stone and reaching my initial target weight on 14th June 2010 (but have since reset it to be slightly lower) - whilst also attending the "Greatest Loser 2010" awards and taking part in the "Man of the Year" competition (where I made my way to the national finals) as well.  More information about my Slimming World journey can be found at http://ihutcherson.sworld.tripod.com - including journals, and various pictures.

Why a parachute jump?  I was looking for something to celebrate when I got to 15stone, and found out that the maximum weight limit for a tandem parachute jump is 15stone.  So why not? (I now weigh less then 15stone though - I was not able to organise it earlier in the year when I originally had hoped to) I wanted to do something that would be a once in a life time experience to celebrate my weight loss achievement - and if I can do it to help someone else's life out in the process - then all the better - and hence the decision to make this a charity jump in order to benefit the NSPCC.(http://www.nspcc.org.uk) - and help to put an end to cruelty and abuse of children.

I've never dreamed of being able to do something like this before, and even if I had had the dream, I wouldn't have been able to.  I only hope that by living this dream, and with your support, some child somewhere is able to find hope in their life.

I've changed my life around by the weight loss.  Now please help me to help the NSPCC be able to help change the lives of children who are being subjected to cruelty.

Thank you.

Ian
