Lands End to john O'Groats · 14 June 2009

Panathlon Foundation seeks to help, motivate and inspire young disabled people through sport. It provides expert coaching, free specialised equipment and multi-sport competitions like the Paralympics. Every penny you donate will go to helping disabled young people have fun through sport.

Story

CYCLE UPDATE

For a variety of reasons, but mostly a knee injury, we've decided to halt our ride after about 400 miles.  Obvioulsy we're disappointed not to have gone the whole way (this time...) but are pleased with what we've achieved since leaving Lands End.

If anybody wants a full or part refund from your donation we'll fully understand.  I've agreed with Panathlon to cover any amounts that they need to hand back so the charity won't lose out.  If you send an email to me or the Panathlon site I'll organise your refund.  And many thanks for everyone's contributions.

Regards

Ian

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

My 16 year old son Matthew and I are attempting to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats, 875 miles or so in a straight line (so we'll probably cycle about 1000 !) in two weeks during August. We have never attempted anything like this before and we would like your help to spur us on our way....

We are supporting the Panathlon Challenge charity, which helps severely disabled children around the country with free sports equipment, expert coaching and mini "Paralympic" type competitions.  It is a very worthwhile charity, and every penny you donate will go straight to disabled children.

Many thanks - keep an eye on www.panathlon.com during August for our daily blog.

Donating through Justgiving is the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Panathlon charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, it also gets an extra 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!

Many many thanks for your support !
Ian & Matthew.
