9 years ago I set off for a weeks cycling from North Devon to Lands End. At the time it was the perfect getaway from a busy year at work and I promised myself I'd do it again the following year. Fast forward to 2010 and my annual cycle (and indeed annual exercise) has turned in to an obsession - The master plan being to cycle anti-clockwise around the coast of mainland UK all the way back to North Devon. I'm doing it in chunks, and last year I reached Kings Lynn in Norfolk, so I'm heading back there to continue my journey north, up the coast to Whitby in Yorkshire. To spur me on and hopefully do some good along the way, I'm hoping to raise some money for a truly amazing charity:
Dreams Come True is a national charity serving the whole of the UK with the mission of bringing joy to children who are terminally or seriously ill by making their treasured dreams come true. Since the charity was incorporated in 1988 we have fulfilled the dreams of more than 4,500 children with severe and life threatening illnesses such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. I'd really appreciate your support! I'll be setting off on Monday the 2nd of August and taking in the sights of Skegness, Grimsby, Hull, Hornsea, Bridlington and Scarborough, arriving at Whitby on Thursday night.... assuming my bike, and me hold out!
