Bupa Great Yorkshire Run 2009 · 6 September 2009 ·

Our vision: A society where every miscarriage is recognised and met with knowledge, compassion, and understanding. Our mission: Our mission is to guide people through pregnancy loss with the information and support they need – for themselves, for their patients, and for society.

Story

On the 6th September 2009 I am running the Great Yorkshire Run in aid of The Miscarriage Association. The Miscarriage Association is a charity that offers support and information to people who are affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy. This charity is really close to me and my wife Nichola's heart as in July 2008 we found great comfort in this association as we lost our first baby due to a miscarriage. After talking to people about our experience you really find out how many people have actually been through the same thing.
The shock and the hurt will live with us forever and the not knowing that 1 in every 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage was a massive shock to us both.
The information the association provided was fantastic and would love this to be available to everyone who goes through this tragic experience. That is why I am doing this for them as a thank you and both me and my wife Nichola would be really gratefull for any contributions you can make.
Luckily for us we are now expecting our first child which is due on the 12th of September. But we will never forget how the association helped us.
