Kilimanjaro Challenge · 21 March 2008

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am climbing Kilimanjaro in October. At 19,340 feet, Kili is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, and also the tallest point in Africa. It will prove to be a massive challenge because, apart from the extensive training and daily, 12-hour trekking uphill, over 50% fail to summit due to altitude sickness which could lead to facial oedemas, migraines, severe nausea and Cheyne-Stokes Breathing. It is all for two great causes: The Teenage Cancer Trust and the Matt Hampson Trust (Matt was an England rugby player injured in training and paralysed from the neck down who now raises awareness and funds for himself and fellow sufferers of severe spinal injuries).

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Teenage Cancer Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Ian.
