Story

This term the Lower Sixth International Baccalaureate students are taking part in a Centenary Sledge Pull in memory of Robert Scott, who died one hundred years ago on his return from his the South Pole. This and related events have been designed to raise money in support of the of the Scott Polar Research Institute, which the College has a long standing association with, and the important and vital work of Teenage Cancer Trust, which is devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. We will be running eleven miles pulling two sledges, which represents the final leg of the expedition which unfortunately Scott and his crew were unable to make.

As part of our Creative Action and Service programme we have collaborated our ideas to try and raise as much money as possible. We have organised a number of events to bolster our fund-raising efforts. These include an upper school charity bar, a bake sale, a swap-shop (where people will have the chance to pay for a stall and bring along items to swap) and a Shell Film Night.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
