This October, I’ll be walking 62 miles for Refuge to mark National Domestic Abuse Awareness Month.

This one means a lot to me. ❤️

Domestic abuse has touched my life personally, and I know what it feels like not to feel safe. I also know how difficult it can be to find the courage to speak up.

Today, through my involvement with the Female Safety App, I have the opportunity to use some of my own experiences in a positive way, to raise awareness, and hopefully make a difference to other women.

This October, I’ll be walking 62 miles for Refuge, in memory of my mum and for all the women whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse.

For the women who are still living in fear.

For those trying to find the courage to ask for help.

For those who have found the strength to leave and are rebuilding their lives.

And for the women I hope, in some small way, I can help by taking part in this campaign.

Just £19 could help fund a call to the National Domestic Abuse Helpline. That one call could be the moment a woman finally tells someone what is happening to her and takes her first step towards safety.

So every one of those 62 miles will mean something to me.

Some will be for my mum. Some will be for my own journey. And all of them will be for women who deserve to live without fear and feel safe in their own lives.
