We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

On the back of the success of the three peaks challenge completed by friends and family in the summer of 2007 in aid of the new manchester childrens hospital, IJS are back for more in 2009 this time for cancer research UK.

In May, we wil be taking on a couple of challenges to raise money for this years Charity of the Year.  On May the 8th, 9th and 10th we will embark on an epic cycle journey crossing the country on a Coast to Coast bikeride from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Tynemouth, taking in the monster climbs of Whinlatter Pass, Hartside and Black Hill.

Those taking part include - Matt Wightman, Clive Wilkins, Jim Grace, Patrick Wilson, Tim Cooper, Lawrence Matthews, Gary Gillespie, Andrew Webster, Lisa Clague, Barbara Cooper, John Cooper, Chris Martin, Michael Grace and Dave Clayton

then...

On Sunday 17th May, we will join 35,00 other competitors on the start line for the Great Manchester Run.

Training for these events has been carrying on for some months (to the point where most of us are able to remove the stabilisers from the bikes, and some of even own trainers!) As these events draw nearer we would really appreciate your support in the form of sponsorship.

Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer - arond 285,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed in the UK each year.  Cancer Research UK work to develop our understanding of cancer and help to diagnose and treat the disease.  Further information on the work of Cancer Research UK, and how your contribution can make a difference, can be found at www.cancerresearchuk.org
