Story

500 Miles : 19 Hospitals : 7 Days : 4 Men : Pedal Power!!

Welcome and thank you for visiting my JustGiving Website.  This site has been created in memory of my Mum (Hazel) who passed away in February 2009 after losing her battle against bladder cancer.

I was keen to find a way of raising funds for St David’s Foundation whose nurses provided support and comfort to my Mum at home during the last 15months of her life.

The Improvement Cycle+ event in conjunction with the 1000Lives NHS campaign provided a great opportunity for me to raise funds whilst at the same time undertake something of a personal challenge for myself.

On the 10th September 2010, together with 3 colleagues from the National Leadership & Innovation Agency for Healthcare (NLIAH),  I embarked on a 500 mile cycle tour of Wales calling in at every main hospital site in Wales within a week starting from Wrexham Maelor Hospital (North Wales).

The Team:

Paul Schanzer supporting St David’s Foundation

Mike Fealey supporting Lifeblood, The Thrombosis Charity

Chris Hancock supporting The Alzheimer’s Society

Mark Thomas supporting Prostrate Cancer Charity
