Story

We made it! Loved every minute!

Today we start the Inca Trail!

At La Raya - 4335m altitude!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are funding this trip ourselves to ensure that all monies raised go directly to The PSP association, which relies entirely on donations.

In March 2014 we will fly out to Peru to begin the the trip of a lifetime. We will start aclimitising to the high Andean altitude at Lake Titicaca, before travelling overland onto Cusco and the start of the Inca trail. The 4 day trek covers a distance of 26 miles, not too far you may think but parts of the trail are at an altidude of 4500 meters (14763 feet). The air at this height is very thin making trekking at this altitude a challenge, for which you cannot train. With the rough ground and thousands of uneven original Inca steps the trek is much more challenging than the distance implies.

Henry Favell (Tim's grandfather), passed away in 2008 due to complications as a result of PSP. There is limited research into this horrible disease and we hope that by doing this Trek we can raise the awareness and some much needed funds for PSP research.

We have been undertaking various training walks and activities in order to improve our fitness in readiness for this trek. We will update this page with further events and activities as they are completed.
