My story

Yes it true... Indigo Pearl has actually let loose their two office idiots, Olly & Charlene, to climb Kilimanjaro.

With not an ounce of climbing experience between them Olly and Charlene are going to attempt to climb one of the world's tallest mountains.

Charlene equipped with high heels, fake tan, and Liverpool shirt and Olly equipped with... well... nothing but hiking boots and a smile (literally) they are verging into the heart of Africa, and will be spending 10 days climbing Kilimanjaro. Here is our itinerary:

6 Oct. Fly to Nairobi - This is where our adventure starts...
7. Oct. Fly to Kili. Visit Amani (kids home) en route to Mar angu - Char stops to apply fake tan
8 Oct. Visit VEP. Meals B,L,D - Char is disappointed there's no Kebab on the menu
9 Oct. Commence Rongai climb. Fully catered - Olly cries
10 Oct. To second camp - Olly applies some fake tan... then gets naked
11 Oct. To Mawenzi Tarn - Olly's general smell after no shower has killed a herd of buffalo
12 Oct. To Kibo - Char stop's for a bacon butty
13 Oct. To Uhuru and back to Horombo - Char has had to give Olly a piggy back because his skinny legs can't take any more.
14 Oct. Return to Mar angu. Meals B,L,D - Char starts a fight because there is no Kebab on the menu.
15 Oct. Visit Dr Gunnar to see hospital and take evening flight back to Nairobi. Connect onto London. Meals - Olly has to be stretchered down by medics.
16 Oct. Arrive back in London - Char and Olly both apply more fake tan... and have a kebab.

All jokes aside this is a great opportunity for us to offer our support to help the ESC charity... which we both believe is for a well deserved cause. We hope you can offer your support too

Here's some info about the ESC. Please please PLEASE dig deep, your money goes a long long way.

The money raised goes directly to ESC (The Entertainment Software Charity) which  was founded in 2000 The ESC is the charitable arm of the computer games industry. they use our funds and time to improve the education given to disadvantaged children in the , , and . they have provided the funds for the Paddington Academy , which will open in September 2006 & last years climb helped raise alongside other charitys a total of $450,000 which payed for the Amani Children's Home which is a small non-governmental, not-profit organization that runs a residential home for orphans and street-children on the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, , East Africa .

Amani Children's Home provides caring and holistic support to 147 children who have turned to them for hope. you can help make it possible for them to reach out to homeless children in a sustainable way and give them a future filled with hope. Due to one of the world's poorest economies, weakening family ties, and HIV/AIDS, the problem of street-children in is growing daily. Without this home and your donations the consequences for society in the immediate term are increased crime, child prostitution and begging. In the long term, street-children end up unskilled and jobless

You can help transforming the life of an innocent child! See for yourself by clicking the links below see the photos of the little ones you are helping!

Kilimanjaro the 'Roof of Africa', is the tallest mountain in Africa and the world’s highest free-standing mountain at 19,340 feet. (5,895m)

Less people climb this mountain every year than run the marathon but between 1-15 people a year die climbing!

Oxygen levels can drop by 50% at the summit Lack of air pressure causes tiredness and breathing difficulties. Reduced amounts of oxygen in the blood starve the brain, causing headaches, nausea and - in extreme circumstances - death.

As the altitude gets extreme during the climb most people who climb Kilimanjaro often suffer from altitude sickness which causes violent vomiting (and the trots - nice).

The terrain changes as you get higher from rainforest to heath, moorland, alpine desert and glaciers reaching temperatures of –10 degrees at the summit!

Although long dormant, it remains one of the world's largest volcanoes and technically is not extinct - the Kibo crater last puffed some smoke as recently as 200 years ago!

Again, we'd just like to say a big thanks for your support.

Olly, Char, and all of Indigo Pearl

PS. Olly said if we raise over 7k he will get naked at the top!
