Ruby kanonge was born alongside her sister Ruvarashe on the 15th January 2005. Born 3 months prematurely both girls were admitted to the special care baby unit at North Tees. It was discovered that Ruby had a very poorly heart and she was transferred to Freemans Hospital PICU Unit. Specialist surgeons performed a gruelling heart operation to save her life. It was a miracle she survived.

Ruby blossomed into the most beautiful little girl. She was extremely loving and together with her sister never failed to bring sunshine.

Sadly, after a second serious heart corrective operation she lost her fight for life on the 24th August 2010 aged just 5years.

In her honour, I and other family members would like to raise money for children and families in similar situations who benefit from the dedication of staff and technology available at Freemans Hospital.

Ruby will forever be in our hearts. We were blessed to have her in our lives. love you always Ruby, our little angel xxx
