My story

 

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As many of you know, my little sister Lara passed away suddenly on 23rd February 2009 after a blood clot travelled into her lungs. Although fit and healthy, her arm and leg swelled, Lara then dies within a matter of hours. We are therefore trying to help 'Lifeblood' raise money for research and to improve awareness of Thrombosis.

 

Thromobosis is a widespread condition and a leading cause of death in the UK. It is known as a silent condition, as there can be little or no symptoms.  
 

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor Lifeblood: The Thrombosis Charity  which gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We are holding a sponsored walk 'In memory of Lara' on the 2nd August 2009 (which is the weekend before Lara's Birthday). It will be a walk along Canvey Island Seawall and we will be meeting to start the walk at the Labworth Cafe at 12pm.
