Story

As many of you may know 18 months ago I lost my dad, Mike Mason to an aggresive form of brain tumour.

He was a wonderful man and a great inspiration as despite suffering from this terrible illness he was still determined to help others who found themselves in a similar position leading him to set up the Thorne Mason Trust. It was his vision to set up a charity that could help people in Pembrokeshire who are in any way affected by brain tumours and cancer and to also fund vital research into brain tumours.

In his memory I have set up this page so that I can raise money and awareness to continue the good work that he began and one day fulfil his vision of finding a cure for brain tumours - the biggest cancer killer of under 40's!

My dream is for there to be a big step forward in finding a cure for brain tumours. There has been so much advancement with other cancers through all the research, so there is no reason why it can’t be the same for brain tumours.

The Thorne Mason Trust is run entirely by volunteers so our running cost are very low. This means that virtually all of the money made will go directly to helping individual cancer sufferers and funding specific days of research.

The charity currently runs a monthly support session for brain tumour and cancer sufferers thier friends, families and carers and is also able to offer outside services such as cleaning, gardening and funding for transport. We are also raising money for brain tumour research and are hoping to evenutally open our own complementary cancer care centre in Pembrokeshire.

I'm sure, like myself and my family many of you will have your own special memories of Mike. And for those who did not know him i'm sure you will agree that this is a fantastic cause! So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you for your support!!
