In memory of Paul Brown

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

Paul Brown died in the early hours of Thursday 18th June 2009, from lung cancer. He was only formally diagnosed two weeks before he died and didn't suffer for long - he died peacefully.

Paul's funeral was held on Monday 29th June at Redditch Crematorium, with celebrations afterwards at the Bull's Head pub, Kings Norton Green. It was just as he wanted, and even featured live music courtesy of family friend Nathan Mathers. Also played was a song by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe, and we closed with Eric and Ernie singing 'Bring Me Sunshine'. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a special day.

Paul requested that donations be made in his memory to the Firefighters Charity, details of which are below. Weare now also counting up money donated at Paul's funeral, which will go to Macmillan Cancer and Marie Curie, in recognition of the support they gave us all during Paul's last weeks.
