Story
Thank you for visiting Our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor Us online. As this will save us both a whole heap of hassle coming round in person with bits of paper.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
What
We are doing a sponsored boat trip from the Moray Firth near Inverness
on the east coast of Scotland to Puffin Dive Center at Port Gallanach,
just south of Oban on the west coast.
All proceeds raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
When
We plan to set off on the 27th April 2007 and arrive at Port
Gallanach, Oban on the 29th.
How
The journey will be completed in two RIBs (Rigid-hulled Inflatable
Boats), one 4 metres and one 4.3 meters.
Our routing will take us due west from Inverness harbour to the
entrance to the Caledonian Canal where we will transit through
Scotland. The Caledonian Canal is comprised of 22 miles of man-made
waterway, the rest are natural lochs, namely Loch Lochy, Loch Oich,
the famous Loch Ness and Loch Dochfour. When we reach the end of the Caledonian canal, we will descend the famous 'Neptune's Staircase' and exit into the sea at Fort William. From Fort William we will head south down the sea loch, Loch Linnhe, the Lynn of Lorn and the Sound of Kerrera to Oban and Port Gallanach.
The route is just over 100 miles.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
