Project South Africa - 18-28th November · 18 November 2007 to 28 November 2007 ·

Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

OK Here's the deal - I have commited to help renovate a remote community school in South Africa in November 2007 . It is The Engelbrecht Primary School. It was established by the congregation or the nearby Leipoldtsville Nether Dutch  Reformed  Church to serve the rather neglected local community of Elands Bay occupying a complex that has now fallen ito disrepair due to lack of funds, and is now below the minimum requirements for a school and will have to close. There are also no recreational facilities on the site.  I have promised to raise 4 grand in sponsorship , and pay for all my own expenses. All the proceeds from the trip will go to the Bobby Moore Fund to help tackle bowel cancer through world-class research. So we help fund much needed research , pay tribute to the memory of a great sportsman and help kids get a decent environment to learn in. I voluntered for this project  and am paying my own expenses - no TV crew , no ''making of '' documentary and definately no '' i'm a celebrity get me out of here '' . Just getting the job done.

45 people die everyday in the UK alone from bowel cancer - it is the second highest cause of cancer death after lung cancer but is 90% curable if caught early enough.

So please sponsor me now  and leave your message of support if you wish. I really am not bothered how small the amount.
