Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
We enjoy cycle touring. It’s a mixture of weight loss, sense of freedom, the natural high of any activity and the less natural frequent pub breaks.
Last year, Mark and I cycled Land’s end to John O’Groats covering 968 miles in 20 days and raising £2,217 for NSPCC. Besides the odd set back such as mechanical problems, punctures and occasionally going the wrong way, the trip was both successful and enjoyable. We meet some of the finest British characters with some of the strongest British accents and have fond memories of what a nice place, we actually live in.
This year we have our sights set on Ireland. I’ve previously cycled around southern Ireland and always wanted to explore Northern Ireland. I wanted to include the attractive west coast of Ireland and cycling the circumference seemed a good fit. We are endeavouring to stick to the coast as closely as possible but there are sections where we need to go inland primarily because of lack of decent roads. I find it strange that nobody seems to have previously done this trip so it’s unique as well. I’m sure we will meet some fine Irish characters on route and we may even partake of a Guinness.
So please sponsor us now!
