Mt. Kilimanjaro VSO Challenge June 26 2008 - Lynn and Irene take the challenge! On June 26 Lynn and I along with 30+ other Accenture people, will trek to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in support of VSO. 10 reasons why you should consider sponsoring me on this challenge: 1. VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) is an international development charity that works through volunteers. Their vision is a world without poverty in which people work together to fulfil their potential. 2. You may not know that Accenture has partnered with VSO. More than 100 Accenture employees have volunteered for terms of 1-12 months to help in the fight against poverty, by providing their professional skills. 3. VSO / Accenture sponsored challenges are another way to give by raising funds to support VSO programs. 4. This is a way to give something back to some of the world's most disadvantaged people. 5. The money raised will be used for development projects in Africa. We will have the opportunity to visit one of these projects as part of the program. 6. You can help make the world a better place for future generations. 7. All of the money contributed will go to VSO programs as I am pledging to cover the costs of my trip. 8. I promise to share my stories and photos. 9. Support for grandmothers is always good. 10. For everyone that donates $50USD ($25 GBP) or more, I will proudly add their name on my "I reached Kili's peak!" t-shirt and will have a picture taken wearing it when I reach the summit.
Accenture employees can learn more about VSO at the following link -https://publishing.accenture.com/VSO/VSO+Homepage/ Others can go to www.vso.can.org (US volunteers work through VSO Canada). Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster. So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
