Story
Hi,
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
In April of this year our 2 year old neice Phoebe was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. She has been in Yorkhill hospital enduring months of treatment and is now at home receiving further treatment.
However, she may need further treatment in America where there is a much better success rate of 60%. This would cost £250,000. Naturally we want to give her the best possible chance so this Friday 14th I'm doing a sponsored swim to help raise funds. The swim will be 128 lengths which is 2 miles or just over 3 kilometres. It may take me a while since I haven't been training as much as I should have been! 1 1/2 - 2 hours at the most I reckon, all in the relative warmth of a swimming pool. I was thinking of swimming in a loch at first but realised there was a danger I might get harpooned. My friend Alison will be counting the lengths as well as me, just to make sure I don't sail on past 128.
Many thanks for visiting the page and helping our cause. We really appreciate it.
You can get news & updates on her progress at www.phoebemacaskill.com
'Just giving' blurb:
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The 2Simple Trust - The Phoebe Macaskill Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me!
