Story

Thank you for lending me your ear and taking the time to follow this link.

If you got here safely it is because you have received a copy of the CD "Little Things Mean A Lot" and I have asked you to consider donating to The Hospice of The Good Shepherd.

The Hospice exists to provide highly specialised palliative care for people living with advanced diseases from the communities of Chester, Deeside, Ellesmere port and Rural Cheshire.

Their  services are provided free of charge to anyone in medical need. These include Medical, Nursing, Social and Emotional support for Patients and their families.

Their  running costs are over £6,000 each day and they rely heavily on the community we serve.

As a family we are now very settled in Chester and I  strongly believe that you should always give something back to the community you are part of. Chester and its local muscians and residents has been a good place to be and I am asking you to donate the cost of the CD to the Hospice. You can always be more generous if you so wish! Why in Mum's memory and why the CD you may ask?

The CD is part of a singing journey – a journey that began when I was a small girl listening to my mother sing in the kitchen as she ironed the mountain of clothes that came with having a large Irish family.

She had been a Big Band singer in before moving to  (Chester in fact and later Shropshire) and had, after all her children, never been able to follow her passion.

Like my mother before me, I took to singing publicly from a young age but choosing to start my own family and then living in for 20 years meant my dream also, was hard to follow.

Until that was, when in 2006, encouraged by my wonderful husband and children, I decided to start again. I love them and thank them for being my biggest and most treasured achievement.

I have lots of folks, muscians and supporters, in Chester to thank and these are mentioned on the cover.

The songs I have chosen are varied – I love them all and some are dedicated to special people and chapters in my life. I hope you enjoy at least some of them.

“Little Things Mean a ” was really difficult for me to sing as it was “Mum’s” song so if you can hear my voice quiver it was because I was sobbing my socks off - sadly she passed away in 2008.

The CD is dedicated to her!
