Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

Our vision is that patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in our area can choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life. We provide 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home care and support for all the family during the illness and through bereavement.

Story

I will be running the London Marathon to celebrate my 60th Birthday, and to raise money for The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home charity. I am dedicating my run to the memory of Sarah Galvin, the daughter of a friend and work colleague.

Sarah  developed Leukaemia at the age of 15, and  for the next four years she bravely endured many treatments while her family struggled with the emotional turmoil. Eventually the Iain Rennie nurses stepped in to provide help and palliative care, thus ensuring that Sarah would spend her last few weeks with her family, in the comfort of her own home. They also gave invaluable emotional support to the bereaved family afterwards.

Please support me by giving generously.
