IRONMAN Weymouth · 11 September 2016

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. We fund pioneering research and provide care and support to individuals and families living with EB.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are competing in the first Ironman based in Weymouth next year. For those who don't know what an Ironman is, it starts with a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike race and finishes with a 26.2 mile run. Its going to be a massive physical and mental challenge, but with the support of our family and friends as well as a sprinkle of sibling rivalry we hope to finish.

So why put ourselves through all of this. For some it will be no shock that we are doing this to support the charity DebRA.

In June 2008 James' first daughter Mia Claire was born. She was beautiful, but sadly had a rare genitic condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) which caused painful blistering and subsequently she past away only three weeks later.

Although Mia was only with us for a short time she touched many hearts. By completing an Ironman we hope to raise money for DebRA a wonderful charity who support families affected with EB.

Again thank you for visiting our page and for your support.
