The UK Ironman, Bolton, 1 August 2010
A long time ago I saw some lunatics taking part in a triathlon on TV. I didn't fully appreciate what was involved, but the Original Ironman in Hawaii seemed really impressive. Now I know that I was right.I chose to take part in the UK Ironman 2010 for the British Heart Foundation. This year it's a cause especially close to me as both my mother and my uncle have had heart attacks and undergone operations. 2.6 million people in the UK have heart disease, and the British Heart Foundation helps them through information and advice, practical support and research. A heart attack doesn't always mean the end to a life, but it often means facing great difficulties. I was inspired to help, and I hope you can dig deep to reward my madness.
Donating through this site is easy and secure. JustGiving will send your money directly to the British Heart Foundation and adding Gift Aid is easy too.
