Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In June this year I will be competing in one of Europes toughest Ironman events 'Ironman France' which consists of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride followed by a 42.2km run in plain old English a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride followed by a nice easy marathon of 26 miles and a few hundred yards
.
As you will know if you, or someone close to you suffers from arthritis, it can be an incredibly debilitating condition, my wife Haf has suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis for some 28 years after coming down with the condition when she was just 13 years of age and has had to endure joint replacement surgery to both her knees and elbows as well as having her spine fused, and has more recently been diagnosed with Osteoporosis. As you can see arthritis can affect anyone with around 12,000 children suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and nearly one fifth of the UK population (9 million people) visit their GP every year with arthritis and related conditions.
My aim is to raise at least £1500 for 'arc', which will go towards their work to control and eventually find a cure for it.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Arthritis Research Campaign gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
