Avenue of The Volcanoes · 28 September 2006

Tommy's funds medical research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage. We’re dedicated to finding causes and treatments to save babies’ lives as well as providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support.

Story

Please note that due to fracturing my back this event will now take place on the 9th September 2008

So what is this all about? I hear you asking

Well in short me and my Fiance Michelle lost our baby Girl, Isabelle, as she was born prematurely at just 21 weeks and 3 days and didn't make it through.

When we lost Isabelle we made her a promise that we would do everything that we could to stop things like this from happening to other people and that's when we discovered Tommy's Charity.

Straight away we decided that we wanted to start raising money for them in a bid to help research into preventing miscarriages, and unborn and premature babies. I also wanted to do something that would challenge me both mentally and physically and that is when I found The Avenue of Volcanoes.

This challenge is rated as extreme and takes places on the rocky landscape of the Ecuadorian Andes. We will aim to climb 4 Volcanoes over a period of 11 days, one of which is Mt. Cotopaxi, the world's highest active volcano (5,897m).

Me and my company (European Metal Recycling) are also looking to enter a team in to the Business Challenge category and run this year's Manchester 10K!

You can also keep up to date with our efforts at www.isabelleschallenge.com

So please dig deep and sponsor us, its totally secure as well.

Many thanks

Ste and Michelle
