Story
I have a vivid memory in year 8 of a PE lesson where we had to run around a 400m track. I didn't reach the end. Somewhere around the 100m mark, I got a stitch. Somewhere around the 200m mark I felt like my chest was on fire. Somewhere around the 300m mark I fell over. It was painful. It was terrifying. It was exercise.
So you can appreciate what it means to me to volunteer to run 10km for Parkinson's UK. For me, this is basically climbing Everest, skydiving from outer space and swimming the Channel in a three piece suit.
Knowing several people suffering with the intense discomfort of Parkinson's, I'm glad to do my own bit to help the search for treatment. I think it has sometimes been overlooked being a late onset condition, but improved treatment would avoid a great deal of suffering.
All donations appreciated, large or small.
Thanks,
Isaac
