Story

Charity Begins at Home!

This Ramadan we are asking our friends and supporters to donate £100 to the work of the Islamic Society of Britain.

The Islamic Society of Britain has played an important and positive part in how British Muslims think about their faith. Some of our innovative activities have often broken new ground, emboldening and empowering many others to create projects of their own.

Last year (Ramadan 2012) we devoted our entire campaign to raising money for 4 British based social charities: the Children’s Society, the Prince’s Trust, Macmillan Cancer, and the Big Issue. We wanted to create a shift in how British Muslims approached charitable donations, a shift that is steadily happening.

It is crucial that as British Muslims we contribute fully to our country and our people.

Of course, we always acknowledge the importance of giving aid abroad to support people who have much less than we all do here. But we cannot ignore the challenges on our doorstep.

The work we do is vital.

See our website for more information:www.isb.org.uk.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) always worked with the people he lived amongst. We need to do the same.

Support our campaign this Ramadan and support more positive work we have planned over the year ahead.

The Islamic Society of Britain (ISB) is a community based charity and not-for-profit company. Established in 1990, we were one of the first organisations that sought to evolve a uniquely British flavour to Islam. We believe that charity should begin at home, supporting needy causes here in the UK.
